Rotary Youth Leadership Awards

Photo for RYLAFor the past 2 years, David has volunteered his time as a staff member of Rotary District 6930’s annual 4 day RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) Camp held in remote Umatilla, Florida. This amazing leadership development program is administered by local Rotary club scholarship for approximately 100 high school students from all over Florida. Participants are identified and recommended by their teachers and principals as having leadership potential and the ability to make a difference in their local communities if only given the chance with some coaching, mentoring and guidance.

David’s main role at RYLA is leading a special program that helps the RYLA students quickly overcome their natural fear of public speaking and become effective and confident communicators unafraid of speaking and performing in front of a large audience. To do this, David teaches them the basic skills learned in his many years of public speaking as an attorney advocate, community leader, and former member of Toastmasters International. RYLA culminates with a public speaking competition on the last night of camp between David’s students who are divided into several teams vying to win the RYLA public speaking championship.

Throughout the RYLA camp, David also regularly participates with the young students in various other programs that focused on:

  • character-building
  • leadership
  • effective communication
  • trust
  • and cooperation.

YMCA of South Palm Beach County

The #1 cause of drowning in both Palm Beach County and the U.S. is unsupervised water activity. The Eltringham Law Group has teamed up with the YMCA of South Palm Beach County to become an active partner in their Drowning Prevention initiatives. Through the financial support of partners like us, the YMCA is able to offer free swimming lessons to thousands of children, as well as engage and educate parents about the importance of water safety skills. The YMCA is one of the nation’s leading nonprofits for strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibilities. The YMCA of South Palm Beach County has family centers in Boca Raton and Boynton Beach.

School Involvement

David Eltringham lends his time speaking to students within the Palm Beach County School District about his experience in the legal industry. David strives to increase academic achievement amongst the students by providing technical expertise through career days, classroom speaking engagements, and offering job shadowing and internship opportunities. By creating an educational partnership with our local schools, David enhances and improves the quality of education by meeting the needs of the students, educators, and our community.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s

David Eltringham served as Co-Chair to the local Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s in 2018. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, it is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Fundraising through participation helps to change the level of Alzheimer’s awareness in our community. Formed in 1980, the Alzheimer’s Association advances research to end Alzheimer’s and dementia while enhancing care for those living with the disease. #EndALZ #Walk2EndAlz
